Membership in the Western North Carolina Woodworkers Association is open to anyone with a desire to learn and share ideas about woodworking with other members.

While membership is not require to attend our monthly meetings, guests are encourage to join after visiting us several times.

WNCWA Membership provides many benefits to both the association and our members. Joining WNCWA can give you a "leg up" by enhancing your woodworking skills.

Benefits

Meetings
While our monthly meetings are free and open to the public, periodically we will hold special meetings open to members only or at a small fee for non-members.

Discounts
Many WNCWA sponsored field trips, classes, workshops, or seminars are either free or offered at discounted fees to our members.

We help members identify retail woodworking suppliers of equipment, supplies and wood products. Many vendors offer discounts to our members that can offset the cost of membership many times over.

Library
Members can take advantage of our extensive lending library of woodworking books, videos and magazines. The books or videos can be checked out during the meeting, and returned the following month. If you view only one video, your savings over the purchase price will more than cover the cost of your membership fee.

Website
Our state of the art website manages membership and includes members only access to a world of resources, tips and techniques, a classified area where members can post items for sale or or search if looking for that special tool. There is also a link where the user can "Ask a woodworker" about a project they are working on or need help with.

Networking
While social media has greatly improved networking, the real power of association membership lays with the opportunities it affords for local networking with fellow woodworkers. Everyone can learn more from brushing elbows with other members than by any other means. There are hundreds of years of woodworking experience that members can take advantage of.

Mentoring and Advise
Whether you are new to woodworking or deciding to try your hand at something new like veneering or bending wood, there is a member who can help you out. Our mentoring program seeks to pair a new woodworker with a more experienced member to act as a mentor. Also, a lot of knowledge is shared between members at meetings, on the phone, or via email. There are no costs involved but many benefits.

Education
Membership provides you with an avenue to "give something back" to the woodworking community. By presenting at one of our meetings or by authoring an article for the website, it's a win-win transaction as your knowledge and that of your co-members is increased.

Newsletter
Our monthly newsletters keeps you up to date on happenings in the association and provides information on a variety of woodworking subjects.

Community Service
WNCWA has a commitment to the community. A percentage of the dues we collect is donated annually to selected local charitable organizations. Periodically our members will get together to make selected items that are then donated to local organizations. Some members are also involved in national woodworking programs that serve both local and national organizations.

Other
1. Meet and greet with woodworking experts
2. Members only events such as picnic, tool auctions, etc.
2. Show and tell about personal woodworking projects.

Membership dues help to cover various WNCWA costs. In addition to recurring operating costs, your dues help us to bring in noted woodworking experts, to make annual donations to selected charities in our community, and to provide member outreach programs. When broken down, your annual membership dues run about $2.50 per month.

Please join us by clicking the Membership Application button below and completing your membership application. Once we receive your dues, we will activate your membership account.
